Look for the Magic in New Beginnings

Happy Friday, RISERS! I hope this week has been good to you. Things have been crazy for the last two weeks. I have changed positions at school and now work as a library assistant in the library. It is a good fit for me because, well, I write books. Life has also been crazy because tonight will be the rehearsal dinner before our son gets married tomorrow. It’s hard to believe we will be adding a new member to the family!

Quote of the week: “The beginning is the most important part of the work.” –Plato

Song of the week: This week, I want to introduce you to a song that is typically played at weddings and sometimes graduations: We’ve Only Just Begun by The Carpenters. It talks about new beginnings and new horizons. Karen Carpenter had a most amazing voice. I hope you like it.

Joke of the week: Did you hear about the two cell phones who got married? The reception was terrific.

Nugget of Wisdom for the week: I hope you know that new beginnings can come in many forms…a wedding, a new position, and even going to a new school. Don’t let the fear of doing something you’ve never done before keep you from trying what you thought might be fun. Sometimes the experiences are unpleasant, but more times than not, the outcome is a positive one. Henry Ford said, “Failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently.” No matter what new beginning may pop up in your life, I hope you face it with your head held high and a determination to do your best. You’ve got this!

Have a great weekend. Remember, you are most awesome, and YOU ROCK!
